Hi, Everyone!

February 8 turned out to be low attendance, due to KMEA (apologies for not checking the calendar sooner!) and the flu that we’re all passing around to each other. Here’s hoping everyone’s recovering quickly!

Carolyn Fassio and I had a little discussion about a few things:

1. Future times to get together: Saturdays aren’t always convenient, so we’re wondering about possibly combining our meetup with a pre-existing rehearsal. The first two that come to mind would be (1) Sundays before/after a Chamber Winds rehearsal, or (2) Wednesdays before/after a Louisville Winds rehearsal. The idea would be to rotate meetup days and times to allow for everyone to get a chance to attend.
2. Best ways to contact everyone: emails don’t seem to be reliable — for instance, UofL and JCPS clean out a large portion of messages that come from outside sources — so we’re wondering how everyone would feel about either using mobile numbers or a service to keep in touch.
   • Some services that may be good alternatives (please click on the links below):
     • Remind – I believe JCPS uses this for parent communications
     • Meetup – online communities option
     • Band – online communication group, seems to combine a bit of Remind and Meetup; one caveat, it looks to be only an app and does not have a web interface

If you have a moment, please let me know what would work best for you. I would love to know (1) your days/times you prefer and (2) what communication alternatives you are interested in trying.
